What Trends Are Emerging in Salary Increases for 2025?

Chart 1 and 2 looks at who received a salary increase for the coming year. We see the following:
Individuals at CVC units are overwhelmingly poised to receive a salary increase for 2025.
YoY comparisons show that positions such as CVC Unit Leaders, Senior Investment Professionals, Senior Associates, and Associates are more likely to see a raise in 2025 compared to 2024. This trend aligns with the heightened activity for CVC units over the past year, making these increases aligned with the need to recruit and retain top talent.
Chart 3 gives us further information. We see the following:
Across all titles, the median salary increase for 2025 is projected to range between 3.90% and 5.00%.
This marks a decrease from last year’s figures across both the median and the 75th percentile for all positions, with the notable exception of the associate position.
Chart 4 looks at who was given a bonus. Bonuses offer a distinct incentive from salary increases, serving as short-term rewards to acknowledge performance, motivate future efforts, and retain and attract top talent. We see the following:
67% of Senior Investment Professionals II received bonuses for 2024. Followed by:
65% of analysts.
63% of CVBD professionals.
59% of CVC Unit Leaders.
